what is Flux
all about?

At Flux we believe that group training is more than just jumping up and down for 45min with everyone doing the same exercises and using the same weights, without any plan or goal in sight.Great care is taken when planning our group training sessions. Unlike many trainers we believe that consistency is the key.

Consistency in training, nutrition and programing. We program our group session in 6 week blocks.This allows you to master movements, build strength, change your body composition and most importantly see progress and results.

Although working in a group session each part of the workout is designed for individualisation. We achieve this by providing progressions, regressions and replacements for all exercises.

This means that the session will cater and suit your needs and goals. Although an oxymoron we like to think of our group session more like group personal training, where the focus is you.

 

Flux is MyZone Enabled 
Myzone is the premier product when it comes to tracking the progress of your workouts. Using the MZ-3 heart rate monitoring belt, you will be able to see in real time how hard you are working.

Your individual Myzone tile will display your calories burnt, current heart rate, MEP’s (Myzone Energy Points) and the percentage of your maximal heart rate. Using the system will motivate and drive you to work harder and recover better. You’re no longer left guessing during your workout!

what we do & how we do it

Our workouts are multifaceted focusing an all areas of fitness.

Primer:

We start the session with foam rolling, stretching and mobility. Followed by muscle activation to prime the body and prepare it for the workout to come.

Dynamic Warm Up:
Next is our Dynamic warm up. This takes form of dynamic movements and exercise, agility ladder work and mini band drills.

Power:

From here you are ready to take on the Power section of the workout. These exercises are designed to improve your explosive movements. The exercises include, Medicine Ball throws, Jumping and Landing skills, Sprints (Bike or Run), Sleds, Kettlebell Swings, Modified Olympic Lifting (Don’t worry no barbells here, but exercises that mimic the similar moments such as sand bag cleans). Apart from improving explosiveness, the power section is also great for weight loss, and because of the elevated heart rate it has a fantastic by product of conditioning.

Strength:

This is probably the most important part of the session. You will learn the fundamental lifts which are taught in a safe and technique oriented manner. You will improve your strength and well as increase your lean muscle mass. Exercises are multi joint (compound) movements with both a bilateral and unilateral (single or double sided) emphasis.

Conditioning:
This is the cardio portion of the workout. The exercises here will elevate your heart rate, speed up your metabolism and improve your fitness whilst aiding to burn fat. Some of the ways we achieve this is by using bike sprints, conditioning circuits and slide boarding.

Cool Down and Recovery:
A great way to cool down and start the recovery process is to go for a recovery ride on the bikes, followed by some light stretching. Remembering that recovery process continues when you are away from the gym, and includes some important aspect such as nutrition, hydration and sleep.

Training Timetable

Your 60 minutes group training session, aims to improve tissue quality and flexibility by encompassing myofascial release (foam rolling), stretching, active warm up, upper and lower body power, functional strength training and conditioning.

We offer a Weekly, 4 Week, 12 Week, 26 Week and 52 Week membership plan. Each membership grants unlimited access to all classes listed in the Training Time Table. Train as often as you like, when you like. Click here.
